01

Getting started

A clear overview of how we work and where to begin.

What services does Astley Digital provide?

We provide fully managed IT, Astley Essentials device protection, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backup, managed servers, RDS and Flynet hosting, managed website hosting and Cloudflare, cyber security, virtual CISO guidance, penetration testing and specialist emergency recovery. You can choose one service or bring several areas together under one accountable UK team.

Can you support a business that already has an IT provider?

Yes. We can work alongside an internal team or existing supplier, or help you plan a controlled move to a fully managed service. We start by understanding the current setup, responsibilities and any areas that need to improve.

How do I know which service I need?

Tell us what is creating risk, disruption or extra work for your team. We will review your current position, explain the relevant options in plain English and help you decide what is appropriate.

Can you review our current setup before we decide?

Yes. Our free IT and cyber health check can review areas such as devices, patching, antivirus, Microsoft 365 security, backups, administrative access and business continuity. We then explain the gaps and sensible next steps without an obligation to change provider.

How is pricing worked out?

Pricing depends on the services involved, the size and complexity of your environment and the level of management required. Astley Essentials starts from £14.99 per employee per month and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace backup starts from £5 per user per month. We confirm the final scope and price before onboarding.

02

Managed IT

Everyday support and ongoing management for your business technology.

What is included in managed IT support?

Managed IT can include day-to-day user support, device and Microsoft 365 management, monitoring, maintenance, security and practical technology planning. The exact scope is agreed around your organisation and existing systems.

What is the difference between Managed IT and Astley Essentials?

Astley Essentials is a focused starting package for proactive monitoring, patch management and managed antivirus. Fully Managed IT can add responsive user helpdesk, Microsoft 365 administration, onboarding and offboarding, device lifecycle management and wider technology planning.

How do our employees raise a support request?

Customers can raise a ticket through the Astley Digital website. The request goes directly into our support portal and provides a reference that can be used to track the issue.

Can you take over from our current IT provider?

Yes. We can help document the existing environment, agree responsibilities and plan the handover carefully. The aim is to protect continuity while making ownership and support routes clear.

03

Essentials and cloud backup

Straightforward device protection and independent backup for cloud business data.

What is Astley Essentials?

Astley Essentials is our entry-level managed IT protection service for UK SMEs. It brings proactive device monitoring, supported operating-system patch management, managed antivirus, device-health signals and asset visibility together under our UK team.

What does the £14.99 Astley Essentials starting price cover?

The starting price covers the Astley Essentials baseline for each agreed employee or covered device. Unlimited user helpdesk, Microsoft 365 administration, servers, cloud backup and project work are not part of the entry package, but they can be added through a wider Managed IT plan.

Can we use Astley Essentials with our existing IT provider?

Yes. Astley Essentials can provide a managed monitoring and protection layer where responsibilities are clearly agreed. It can also be used as a starting point before a structured move to fully managed IT.

What does Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backup protect?

Coverage can include Exchange email, calendars, contacts and attachments, OneDrive, SharePoint, Gmail, Google Drive and shared drives. We confirm the platform, users, workloads and retention requirements before the service begins.

Do Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace already back up our data?

Microsoft and Google build resilient platforms, but retention and recycle-bin features are not the same as an independent backup. Accidental deletion, compromised accounts, malicious activity and retention gaps can still leave important business data unavailable.

How much does managed cloud backup cost?

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backup starts from £5 per protected user per month, excluding VAT. The final proposal confirms platform coverage, retention and any specific recovery requirements.

Can you restore a single email or file?

Yes. Assisted recovery is part of the managed backup service. Tell us what is missing and our team can help locate and restore the appropriate email, folder, file or supported workload.

04

Cyber security

Practical protection, risk management and security guidance.

What does managed cyber security involve?

It brings relevant security controls, monitoring, maintenance and advice into an ongoing managed service. The right combination depends on your systems, risks, regulatory needs and how your team works.

What is a virtual CISO?

A virtual Chief Information Security Officer provides experienced security leadership without the need for a full-time internal appointment. This can include reviewing risk, shaping policy, supporting compliance work and helping leadership make informed security decisions.

Can you help with cyber security compliance?

Yes. We can help you understand relevant requirements, review current controls, create practical policies and evidence improvement. The work is shaped around your organisation and the standards, customer expectations or regulatory obligations that apply to it.

What should we do if we suspect a security incident?

Act quickly, disconnect affected devices where safe, avoid deleting useful evidence and use the Cyber Incident Recovery route. Share the key facts, but never send passwords, recovery keys or sensitive evidence through a website form.

Is cyber security only necessary for large organisations?

No. Any organisation that depends on email, cloud services, customer information or connected systems has risks to manage. Security should be proportionate to the organisation, its information and the consequences of disruption.

05

Servers and hosting

Managed infrastructure and a reliable home for business systems and websites.

What is a managed server?

A managed server includes ongoing technical care as well as the underlying infrastructure. Depending on the agreed service, this may cover operating system management, monitoring, maintenance, security and support from our specialists.

Do you manage Windows, Linux and Remote Desktop Services?

Yes. We manage Windows and Linux servers and can support Remote Desktop Services, databases, identity, storage and application workloads. The environment is designed around performance, security, resilience and the way your team needs to work.

What is Flynet hosting?

Flynet is our managed hosting environment for business applications and remote working. It can be combined with managed servers and Remote Desktop Services so the underlying platform, updates, protection and support sit with one accountable team.

Where are your data centres located?

Our current infrastructure footprint includes the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, the United States, Canada, India and Australia. The right location is considered around the service and its requirements.

What is the difference between managed servers and website hosting?

Managed servers are designed for workloads that need a dedicated or specifically configured server environment. Website hosting provides a managed platform for websites and related services. We can help identify which approach fits your requirements.

Do you provide managed WordPress hosting and Cloudflare?

Yes. We provide secure managed WordPress hosting, performance and uptime monitoring, and managed Cloudflare services. Cloudflare can be configured for DNS, caching, TLS, firewall controls, traffic filtering and origin protection according to the website.

Can you migrate an existing website or server?

Yes. We first review the current environment, dependencies, data and acceptable disruption. From there we can plan the migration, testing and changeover rather than treating it as a simple file transfer.

How do backup and recovery work?

Backup and recovery arrangements are designed around the service, the information involved and how quickly it may need to be restored. We will explain the agreed approach, responsibilities and recovery considerations for your environment.

06

Penetration testing

Independent testing to identify and explain exploitable weaknesses.

What is penetration testing?

Penetration testing is an authorised assessment that looks for security weaknesses and attempts to confirm whether they could be exploited. The scope and testing rules are agreed before any work begins.

What can be included in a penetration test?

Testing can cover external infrastructure, internal networks, web applications or another clearly defined target. We will help shape a scope that reflects what you need to understand and avoids unnecessary disruption.

What do we receive after the test?

You receive a report explaining the findings, their significance and practical remediation priorities. We can also discuss the results with the relevant technical or leadership teams so the next steps are clear.

Will penetration testing disrupt our systems?

Testing is planned to reduce avoidable risk, but no meaningful security assessment is completely without impact. We agree the scope, timing, contacts and rules of engagement with you before testing starts.

07

Emergency recovery

Specialist routes for active attacks, failed systems and compromised websites.

Which emergency recovery service should I choose?

Use Cyber Incident Recovery for ransomware, compromised accounts, data theft or a broader security breach. Choose Hacked WordPress Repair for an infected or broken WordPress site, Server and Infrastructure Recovery for failed or inaccessible systems, or DDoS and Website Attack Mitigation when hostile traffic is affecting availability.

What should we do while a cyber attack may still be active?

Disconnect affected devices from the network where it is safe to do so, preserve logs and evidence, and avoid deleting files or reinstalling systems. Use a separate trusted device to request help if you believe normal accounts or devices may be compromised.

Can you repair a hacked WordPress website?

Yes. We can investigate the compromise, remove malware, spam pages, redirects and rogue accounts, repair damaged files or database content, restore access and harden the site against repeat infection.

Can you recover failed servers, virtual machines or cloud systems?

Yes. We assess the impact and dependencies, protect available data and recovery points, then restore priority servers, virtual machines, identity, storage, networking and cloud workloads through the safest viable route.

Can you help during a DDoS or website attack?

Yes. We can review the attack and hosting setup, configure emergency Cloudflare controls, filter malicious traffic, protect the origin server and help restore access for genuine users.

What information should I include in an emergency request?

Explain what users or visitors can see, when the problem started, what systems appear affected and anything already attempted. Do not include passwords, private keys, recovery codes, API tokens or sensitive evidence. We will provide a secure route if access or files are needed.

08

Support

Getting help, sharing useful information and choosing the right contact route.

How do I raise a support ticket?

Use the Raise a Ticket page and provide your contact details, a short summary and what happened. You can add a screenshot or supported file if it helps explain the issue. The page will show your ticket reference after a successful submission.

What is the Customer Portal?

The Customer Portal gives customers a dedicated route into Astley Digital support. Use it to access the support services available to your organisation and manage your requests.

What information should I include in a ticket?

Explain what you were trying to do, what happened, when it started and who is affected. Include the exact wording of useful error messages. Never include passwords, private keys or other sensitive credentials.

Where can I check the status of Astley Digital services?

Use the Service Status page for current service information and updates. If your problem is not shown there, raise a support ticket with the affected service, users and any useful error messages.

How do I report abuse involving your network?

Use the Report Abuse form in the website footer. Include the affected domain, URL, IP address or service, what you observed and relevant evidence. Your report will be created directly in our support portal.
